General information

Hungary is one of the 15 most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is located in Central Europe and has the largest lake – Balaton – within the region. Its two longest rivers are the Danube and the Tisza.  Hungary has eight locations on the World Heritage List. Its capital and largest city is Budapest (see picture). The temperature is about 20-25°C in May.

Kossuth Square, KaposvárA Hungaricum is a phenomenon that is unique to Hungary, such as Tokaji Aszú - the king of wines; Pálinka – fruit brandy; Unicum - liqueur including more than 40 herbs, Bull’s Blood wine, PICK salami, Makó onions, Zsolnay ceramics, Herend porcelain, Hungarian paprika, and the Rubik's Cube.

Kaposvár

Kaposvár – the city of flowers - is the capital of Somogy County. Kaposvar has 70000 habitants and lies about 200 km south-west of Budapest and 50 km from Lake Balaton. You can experience relaxing restaurants and cafes along the walking street and Kossuth square. There are heaps of statues, fountains and little shops among the historical buildings. It is a friendly, little city (see picture).

Kaposvár University

Established concurrently with the restructuring of the Hungarian higher education system, Kaposvár University was founded on the 1st of January, 2000, by the joint decision and fusion of its founder legal predecessors, integrating two faculties and two research institutes.
